I've been using the NullDC Dreamcast emulator a few years ago and I really liked it. The emulation was really good, the performance was great. A few days ago I read an article in a french tech magazine about emulation and it said that the best DC emulator nowadays was Demul. So, I tried it. I have a pretty high end computer with a recent Core i5 and a GTX 980, 8 GB of RAM. I used the latest build of the emulator, with the DX11 video plugin. And I must say I was really disappointed with the performance. The emulator stutters every second; I tried putting every graphic setting to the minimum (640x480, internal resolution to 1x, no FXAA) and it was the same. It is playable, but it is really far away from the NullDC performance. Now, I don't know if there is a problem on my configuration, or if it is the emulator / video plugin. I'll just stay with NullDC for now, even though it is not maintained anymore. Has anyone had the same experience? To save time, I will list the Dreamcast games that I own which have found work best on demul, and the ones that work best on nulldc. Nulldc: • ikaruga • Resident Evil Code Veronica • Shenmue • Marvel vs. Capcom 2 • Dead or Alive 2 • Cosmic Smash • Bangai-O • Project Justice • Ready 2 Rumble Boxing • Border Down • Daytona USA So pretty much nulldc works for almost all dreamcast games. Now the following games are arcade titles so I only used the emulator for testing purposes with them, but here is the list.
